"Can you help me with an injection?"

Can you imagine going to the doctor and him giving you an injection to take home or giving you a prescription for one at the pharmacy for something routine like pain or a cold? (if you have diabetes you obviously don't think its that weird thats why I specified) In El Salvador, my friend today asked one of the health promoters not to leave for home until he helped her with a shot. Keep in mind, a health promoter only has a high school diploma and their main job is distributing health information and sometimes vaccines to dogs and cats. It reminded me how strange that would be to someone in the States.
