HERE!
Here, but NO CELLPHONE YET!! I am seriously dying. They are everywhere so thats not the problem. But, in order to keep a better track of money laundering and drug dealers they passed a law saying you must have a government ID to buy a phone. Well, we don´t have one but Peace Corps worked out a deal with one of the major carriers to allow us to use our passports. BUT, they also won´t allow us to buy one for another 3 weeks until we fully ¨integrate¨ into our communities... When, I do get one though I´ll let you know. Make sure by then you know what your international minutes will cost you. You can def help me cut costs bc all incoming calls are free for me! yay! Also, I might be getting a wireless internet card then too so yay for modern communication!
Communication aside, I am definitely glad I am here. It is vastly different culturally than I ever imagined. And, though I am in the ¨slow¨ group in Spanish (haha) I can feel myself getting better and more confident everyday. I absolutely love my host family. They are so good to me and make me feel safe at all times.
I will likely be adding to this once a week so stay tuned!
